Anyway, back to the point, The Onion’s most recent Ask The AV Club article did indeed answer my question about the obscure Nick at Nite TV show On The Television.  (And, not to be ungrateful, but it WAS a question, as the subject line of the email was, “What was this Nick at Nite show?”)  So why am I mentioning this to you, dear reader?  It’s not because I have no one else to brag to, rather it’s to illustrate that I, Jad, am rich with television.  I’m not the biggest boob tube afficionado, but I know my stuff.  Who sang the theme song to WKRP in Cincinnati?  Steve Carlisle.  Who played the straight man in Car 54, Where Are You?  Fred Gwynne.  Do Donna Reed and Dennis the Menace exist in the same universe?  The answer, thanks to a mind-bending crossover episode, is a most emphatic yes.

What is the point of all this prattle?  Well, for as much TV trivia I know, it pales in comparison to how much Star Wars arcana is trapped in my poor brain.  So I’ll sum it up with this: I know Star Wars, and I know TV.  Isn’t it only natural that two great tastes should go great together?  Shouldn’t there be a Star Wars character (or planet, or ship, or food…) named Jad?
